This has to be one of the best Wine and Food tours we have done. We got to feast on amazing Georgian cuisine and it was delicious!
As wine geeks, we have been on our fair share of wine tours around the world. Eat This Tours was by far the best ones we have been to. In our multiple days of wine tours we experienced a great mix of culture, hospitality and tasted some amazing wine. Tommo and his team listened to what we wanted and curated some excellent wineries with great wine and good food on their tours, very passionate and knowledgable winemakers. We learnt a great deal about indigenous grape varieties, regional terroirs, organic and biodynamic winemaking, local viticulture and viniculture practices. All our hosts were amazing, our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you Eat This Tours, we absolutely loved every minute of it, we will be back! – Reviewed on TripAdvisor
From Tbilisi to Kartli, to Telavi Kakheti (2 Night in Telavi – not included in price), Signagi and back to Tbilisi.
This tour operates as private only. If you wish to share with other people we can connect you if anyone books but of course this is quite a niche tour compared to our standard tours and it is less likely that other people will be here at exactly the same time as you wish to take the tour.
Important!! Your two nights of accommodation is not included in the tour price. Please see some recommended hotels and location information below.
Guests want varying accommodation levels. The difference in price between guesthouses and 5-star hotels is huge, which is why we do not force specific hotel pricing on our guests.
OPTIONAL (booked by default unless you request otherwise): Learn how to make Khinkali (traditional dumplings – vegetarian/vegan option must be pre-ordered).
We request that guests select their own accommodation as price differences from lower end to luxury are vast, and we’d prefer every guest gets to stay at a place that suits their tastes and budget. We’ve hand picked some of our favorite options.
5 Star Hotel. Radisson collection, highest standard hotel in Kakheti. With spa and pool.
Our top pick for luxury standards in the region. Often booked up way in advance.
4 Star Hotel with pool, vineyard, restaurant and terrace with Caucasus views.
Our top pick for balancing price and quality, plus their saperavi rose is something very unique!
4.5 Star Hotel. Beautiful classic/artistic design. With pool, restaurant and terrace. They also make their own wines.
Our top pick for artistic surroundings and service.
3 Star Hotel. Cozy, independent hotel with a small swimming pool. Good wine list from local artisans, though wines are not made on site.
Our top pick for friendly and comfortable.
2.5 Star Hotel. Modern hotel that shares pool/spa facilities with the 5 star Tsinandali estate (7 minutes outdoor walk apart)
Our top pick for clean and affordable.
One of our favourite wine makers to visit now has accommodation available as well, with clean modern rooms and stunning views of the Caucasus mountains.
1 Star Guesthouse. Basic but acceptable rooms with friendly hosts who may feed you their wine. A pleasant little garden.
Our top pick for a cheap family homestay.
Nothing available above?
You can select other options that meet your preference between Telavi and south to Tsinandali.
Or contact us for assistance and additional suggestions.
The listed tour price does not include accommodation! Please see the itinerary section for more details.
The tour requires a minimum of 4 guests to operate. Only available as a private tour.
Use the booking widget to get an estimated price and send us your enquiry for your selected dates. Because this is such a specialist tour we cannot guarantee every single winery listed on the itinerary will be available for your exact dates. Please book with as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment. Once you’ve submitted your enquiry we will come back to you with any adjustments and a final price because variations in the itinerary may lead to small price changes up or down.
NOTE:
Price reduction of 150 GEL per person if substituting the premium VIP Royal Reserve tasting at Chateau Mukhrani with the standard tasting. But honestly the premium tasting is worth it for the experience, the additional VIP access and the premium wines themselves, it’s not just purely about the wines it’s also the experience and the hosting conditions.
Price Reduction: 45 gel per person if removing one of the short wine tastings on the final day and replacing it with a visit to Bodbe and extended time in Signagi.
All-inclusive, indulgent amounts of food & wine with lunch and dinner.
Tips & insurance are excluded.
Submit a private Sighnaghi Wine tour enquiry here.
If you wish to travel with only your group, submit a private / on-demand tour inquiry instead of the booking form.
Our premium tours are priced higher than budget or mid-range competitors due to our dedication to exclusivity, quality, authenticity, and fair compensation to guides and small family winemakers.
Our philosophy on price is: What is better value for money, a unique boutique dinner with premium wine, or eating a supermarket sandwich on a park bench with a nice view? Either experience could get a 5 star review, if the quality meets the price tag and exceeds your personal expectations.
Although we understand our prices may not suit everyone, we guarantee premium experiences surpassing cheaper alternatives, to which our past guests overwhelmingly give 5 star reviews and agree are genuinely worth the price tag. Learn why, below.

Our tours are priced with the exact cost (with fair pay to vendors) plus a 5% to 25% margin (depending on tour type and the number of guests) to pay our admin staff and be in profit (otherwise the business would close).
No. The tour runs in all weathers but note that if it is heavy rain or snow, a visit to walk the walls in Signagi may not be much fun, so you can opt to spend more time elsewhere.
Three days moving at a pace that lets you actually absorb what you’re tasting. Each day involves some walking – cobbled streets in Sighnaghi, monastery grounds, a working qvevri workshop – but nothing strenuous. Comfortable shoes, not hiking boots.
The only currency accepted by vendors for buying wine/gifts etc. to take home, is the national currency GEL. You can get this from any ATM and your driver will be happy to stop at one.
Purchase of our tours is normally in GEL based on the current exchange rate for the USD pricing of the tours. We’ll advise you of the exchange rate by email shortly before the tour date.
The initial standard price listed on our tour webpages is based on 1 adult traveling in a group of 2 to 4 people on a scheduled tour. Groups of 5 or more adults receive discounts. If you booked at full price and your tour ends up with 5 or more people after you booked, we will refund you any owed savings. This is done on the morning of the tour to ensure we know the exact number of people who actually took the tour, and can account for last minute sign ups and no-shows when calculating the final price.
The final discount will vary depending on the exact number of guests in the vehicle. We always honor discounts and will normally contact you about the expected final price the day before your tour, if it has changed since you initial booking.
Prices vary for private and custom tours (we’ll give you an exact quote based on what you want to book) as well as any extras you may book in addition to the scheduled tours.
The price you pay is the exact price it costs us to run the service (paying guides and vendors for what they provide etc.) plus a margin of 10% to 30% to cover marketing costs, office staff, and so we run at a profit (otherwise we’ll go out of business!). The margin depends on the amount of people, and type of tour. We actually subsidize tours with only 2 people on, out of our margin, to keep our pricing competitive, and because we’d rather have our guides out and getting paid, than get greedy and penalize small groups.
We always try to price transparently and as fairly as possible and to pay guides and vendors above average in order to retain the best people.
Yes, with advance notice. The standard inclusions contain pork or veal, dairy, walnuts and gluten.
Vegetarian options are available (and popular in Georgia!) at all main meal stops but must be requested at the time of booking, as family hosts prepare food specifically for the group.
Vegan options are possible but a bit more limited as Georgian cuisine can be dairy heavy. Khinkali, on some not all of our tours (check specific inclusions for this tour), has a vegetarian (cheese) or vegan (mushroom) filling option by advanced request.
Vegan + Gluten Free as a combined need of a single individual is essentially impossible to cater for as this would restrict you to essentially eating a few vegetable dishes our small home cooks are not able to cater for something this limited unfortunately.
If you are full celiac (not just gluten intolerant) we do not have the scope to guarantee protection against cross-contamination in small home kitchens. It’s better not to book the tour if you would have severe reactions to gluten if any of your food accidentally had gluten in. Regular gluten-free is absolutely no problem though you will miss out on Khinkali and Khachapuri, Georgia’s two national dishes, we can’t offer gluten-free alternatives to this though we can sometimes substitute Khachapuri with Mchadi which is a west Georgian corn bread
If you have a serious nut allergy that could result in anaphylactic shock or other serious effects please ensure you bring an epi pen with you on the tour please ensure you notify us at time of booking that your walnut allergy is that serious and please advise the guide at the start of your tour where the epipen is and any instructions they may need on using it – or who else accompanying you would be responsible for using it. Walnuts are one of the primary foodstuffs in Georgian cuisine. We absolutely can cater easily for those who cannot eat walnuts. There is plenty other food to eat. But small cross-contamination risk is sometimes possible and cannot be avoided so it is essential that you are prepared for this.
You’ll probably see on all budget sightseeing tour itineraries, and most lists of “things to do in Kakheti”, that Bodbe is normally included. Why is this?
Why we don’t go?

Typically we don’t book under 18’s onto shared wine tours. For 2 reasons:
If your kids are under 18 then definitely book a private tour.
Private tours guarantee:
Private tours do not guarantee:
Both options offer a premium, all-inclusive look at authentic Georgian food and wine culture. To use a simple hospitality analogy: our Superior tours are like booking a beautifully appointed, quality room at a top-tier boutique hotel, while our Signature tours are like upgrading to that hotel’s top-floor suite. (Please note this is just a metaphor for the level of inclusions – overnight accommodation is not included in our day trips!)
Here is how the two package levels break down:
Premium Authentic vs. “Luxury”
There is a distinct line between our Premium Authentic experiences and artificial luxury. A luxury approach in Georgia typically prioritises styled, highly modernised chateaus designed to project a polished “luxury identity,” paired with cost-prohibitive VIP vehicles that drive up prices without adding genuine substance. Our Premium Authentic approach focuses entirely on the Real Georgia – with occasionally just a taste of the more modern for balance. We pair modern, comfortable, air-conditioned transport, careful drivers, and elevated authentic food and wine. We focus on genuine hospitality rather than venues that just look fancy on the surface. Sitting down with a winemaker at their family table to hear them personally explain their wines feels far more premium authentic than any high-end, modern chateau restaurant meal.
If I book a Superior Tour, am I getting a basic or scaled-back experience?
Never basic! We do not offer low-cost, mass-market commercial tours. Every single itinerary we run is built from the ground up to be a top-tier package. With a Superior tour, you still get well-kept, comfortable transport, a dedicated expert guide, top-quality food, and exceptional authentic wines all day long. If a Signature tour is out of your budget, the Superior tour still delivers a generous, uncompromised premium experience – just a little shorter, less indulgent, and hence less expensive.
4 Days Per Week (Mar to Dec) and on-demand daily, year-round. The ultimate authentic Georgian feast experience. Join a local artisan winemaker and their family. Interactive dining with the Tamada (toastmaster), Polyphonic singing, abundant food & wine.
Signagi Roundtrip Private Tour with Artisan Supra (feast) Lunch. Pickup in Signagi (start 10:30 AM), or Tbilisi (start 8:30 AM). Explore Bodbe, Signagi & 2 independent wineries inc. the family hosted supra.
